Jay Nadler began his post university life as an elementary school teacher. The world of insurance became an obvious next step. He entered the world of Insurance in 2002 following the diagnosis of his wife’s brain tumor (at age 29). As a family, they got to experience the emotional & financial reality that illness brings.

Before becoming an insurance advisor and caregiver for his wife, Jay had many careers. He ran retail stores, worked with a circus, managed movie theatres, ran the commercial sales department for MEC when they were growing 40% per year, and spent years doing business to business sales of high end computer systems & support.

The combination of his experience with his wife and his business background has helped him search for the best processes & products to help his clients achieve as risk free a financial life as possible. The experience with his wife leads Jay to better understand the health & life situations that you may experience as time goes by.

Jay Owned Marathon Benefit Corp. (Specialists in group benefits & business solutions) in Calgary from 2004 to the present day. He now focuses his energy on the Comox Valley. Due to his diligence & processes he is the chosen representative for the CFIB benefit plan for North Island and Northern BC.

In his spare time, he likes to be active. He mountain bikes & trail runs in Cumberland almost daily. In the summer you will also find him kayaking & riding his motorcycle. In the winter he can be spotted up on Mount Washington.


Naviguide’s goal is to be the most professional & creative insurance advisory on Vancouver Island. To do this, we will;

Another important part of our vision is to make the world a better place. We recognize that insurance is a paper intensive business. For every major policy that we place, we plant a tree. We also support local charitable organizations.





Our main charity is the Cumberland Community Forest Society

A percentage of  profit from every policy purchased by a client or renewed by a Group Benefit Plan client will go to the forest as an annual donation.

The goal is to work with our clients to purchase an acre of forest / year. The 2018 cost of an acre is approximately $8,800. (This number changes regularly as the forest is a commodity.)

If other charities are interested in our support, they are welcome to send a request in writing. We re-evaluate our charities every two years.
